Certificate III in Security Operations CIIISO
Course Outline
This is a nationally accredited course which is best suited to those people who already have their security licence. This qualification will increase the knowledge and skills of Security Officers already working within the Security industry by further developing operational or supervisory skills. Successful completion of this qualification may lead to employment in supervising and managing a small team.
Our training programs, using advanced techniques combined with relevant practical experience, teach our students to recognise potential threats, complex conditions and equip them to manage or supervise a team responding to a security risk situation.
Students will receive face-to-face trainer led theory classes, and practical sessions involving small groups and individual activities. Eagle Training Services aims to train highly motivated and professional security officers to a standard, which far exceeds requirements. All Eagle Training Services instructors have current industry experience within the security environment.
Each module complies with Police, State Training and Government licencing authorities. All modules are nationally regognised and approved by the relevant licensing authority.
The course runs over 8 days in total. This course is conducted part-time, after hours over 4 weeks involving 2 evenings and a full day each week. Evening sessions are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm – 9pm and the full day is on Saturdays 9am – 4pm.
Training Delivery
Classes commence at 9am. Training occurs at Eagle Training Services training facilities, located at 42 Gap Road Alice Springs. Participants undertake the course in comfortable air-conditioned classrooms with the latest IT and audiovisual capabilities. Students are supported through the provision of high quality learning materials and resources.

Course Prerequisites
Students must be 18 years of age or older and be currently working within the Northern Territory security industry with at least 12 months experience.
It is a requirement for this course that students must have good verbal and written English skills. Students will be assessed for language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) ability and as such must undertake a pre-course LLN assessment prior to enrolment. Any student identified as requiring assistance will be given help by their trainer to successfully undertake the course. Where the students LLN needs are beyond the capability of the trainer, a referral will be made to appropriate support services.
Course Assessment
Assessments are contextualised and linked to the completion of various activities. Assessments may consist of practical demonstration, written questions and project work depending upon the unit requirements.
Assessment takes places throughout the course and is conducted off the job.
